shifts and systems

shifts and systems

Wow. What a day. I’m so exhausted I can barely write out the thoughts I want to share. But, my mind has been swirling with ideas all day and I know I have to at least attempt to get them out before sweet slumber.

Picture the Holidays began today which makes me giddy. The enthusiasm from participants has been totally infectious and I know these next 30 days are going to be amazing. And on top of that, Reverb10 began today too which is yet another vehicle for creative inspiration this month. So exciting!

I can think of no better way to honor 2010 and welcome the new one coming than by reflecting on the past and looking to the future, all the while appreciating in the present.

I kicked off Picture the Holidays today with a prompt of gratitude. It’s my way of getting things off on the right foot. And today’s prompt at Reverb was to pick a word that speaks for all of 2010 and one that will speak for 2011. Two words to say it all.

After much contemplation, I have chosen the word shift to sum up 2010. And amidst of number of shifts that have occurred in the last year in my life, perhaps the one I am most aware of is my deliberate shift into gratitude. It’s created a ripple effect that has changed my entire life for the better. Grateful for who I am, for what I have and for each and every blessing, large or small, that surrounds me. Gratitude is perhaps the most powerful shift I have ever experienced.

Totally unrelated (I think) is my word right now as I look forward to 2011; systems. Whether or not that will end up being my One Little Word for the year isn’t clear yet. It’s a little on the practical side for that. But for now, and for today’s prompt which is so much about our intentions for the year ahead, systems is what I keep going back to. It might sound obscure out of context, but I know exactly what it means and I guess that’s all that matters when you’re manifesting.

I’m exhausted after a long and fruitful day (have I mentioned that?) but I am so excited about this month and all the good that will come from tapping into my creativity ( in photography, writing, collaborating, and manifesting). It feels amazing to be on the cusp of so much good.

What’s good in your life right now? What are you looking forward to? Do you have a few words that sum it up for you?

Must be something in the air. I feel content tonight. Nothing in particular has happened — just an average day of taking care of business, homeschooling, and being with friends. Even our park day had a different, energizing feel to it. Yes, must be something in the air. I'm an optimistic person by nature, but we've had our ups and downs these last few years. I'm not sure what is different about today. Perhaps it's not about looking to the future, but being happy right here, right now. Yes, I love the energy and collaboration, meeting new friends and welcoming back old ones. It's amazing when it feels so easy.

Yet another reason I feel that we're kindred spirits Tracey. Yesterday my #reverb10 word for 2010 was gratitude. And I feel gratitude for being connected to you in this space!

Hi Tracey Clark, My name is Tracey Clarke. 🙂 I'm also joining Reverb's Reflection this year…and I saw your website on their 'Link Love' page. What a cool page you have here. Shifts would also be related to the word I chose for the year- my word was more of a phrase really ('shifting paradigms') but what do you really mean by systems? I like what you said about Gratitude- I have to learn how to be more greatful for the limbo which I'm in now…even if I don't understand what's going on.

Glad I found your blog, new follower.

I like "shift," and can't wait to see what you mean by "systems." There are so many things to consider. This project has me excited, as I did One Little Word last year, and this seems a wonderful extension of that sort of idea. I was thrilled to see you and Kate and others are providing prompts. My words were rooted and gardening. Can't wait to get yours Tracey!

I am happy to say that I have started on the same 2 projects that you have with Picture the Holidays & #Reverb10.
It should be a interesting journey, one that I am glad to experience with you!
My words were: LOSS and GAIN

I really need to create a shift to gratitude too. My reverb word for 2011 is Fun, but I think I need to work in Gratitude as well. : )

Right now I am happy with the first snow falls of the year and the cold, crisp weather we're experiencing here in Toronto (it's not too cold, yet). I am also totally loving the inspiration and creativity that is stemming from #reverb10.

My word for 2010 is ADVENTURE. My word for 2011 is PARTICIPATION.

So happy to have found this blog and my word for 2011 is definitely *Magical*…I've no idea why but that's the best word to sum up my expectation of the coming year, it's simply 'how I feel', thankyou for this opportunity to share xx
