One week later, I am still wading in the warm waves of satisfaction and validation from the Mom 2.0 Exhibit. Alas, just as I thought they might, the words to really describe the experience have all but escaped me. I spent the morning browsing through (and uploading) my photos from the reception at the Foto Fest Gallery. It was a grand celebration of what we do everyday; our day to day routines, our rituals, our children, our passions, our words, our hearts and souls, larger than life.

This is what we do. This is who we are. And we know (as we have always known) that what we are doing matters.

There’s really not much more to say except that I am grateful to have had the opportunity to help bring these truths into such a bright and authentic light. Amidst the party brimming with revelry, laughter and joy, seeing my own work life on the gallery walls felt amazing. But seeing the work and words lives of so many other women that I love and admire all around me made my heart swell beyond measure. Shutter Sisters being honored like that was a dream come true.  It helped me to remember that Shutter Sisters (the blog) is one of my babies too. And as most mothers can attest, when someone loves and nurtures your baby like you do, there’s no finer feeling.

It’s an experience I will carry with me always.

Girl, you’re the bomb, plain and simple. You are exactly where you’re supposed to be and doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing. Enjoy the ride, my friend. And thanks for being you. 😉

You are one of my absolute favorite people. I adore you and look forward to the day we get to finally meet up for a coffee and chat. Wish I could have been there… sounds just dreamy.

I think the most magical thing for me watching from afar, was that I felt so very much a part of it. Images I had seen before. Comments I had left at Shutter Sisters. Meeting some of you lovelies in Chicago. So many lives intertwined and made richer for the love of images of our ordinary.

The exhibit was fantastic. It was so powerful to see the images, words, and people up close and in real life. It was so neat to finally meet you, and so many other talented women who make a difference every day.
