fleeting moments

fleeting moments

Some days you feel like you’re living in slow motion. You watch your life as passes by one minute after the next. You hear every sound, feel the breeze on your face, notice the quality of light, and watch your children in awe.

Who’s life is this wonderful life? How did I get so blessed? I don’t know, but I do know I never want to take another day for granted.

I had a day like that this weekend. It was magic.

Videos like this (created by the lovely Katherine Center) bring it all home; what it means to love, care-take, nurture, give, hold, carry, and love more.

Share a favorite fleeting moment from your life. Through the lens of love and gratitude, it all looks perfect. Lucky us!

How absolutely wonderful! The photos are beautiful and I can’t help but smile thinking about those fleeting moments.

Just tonight, my little 2 year old daughter put her hand on my cheek. When I turned towards her, she held out her arms, leaned into me, gave me the most heartfelt hug, leaned back while keeping her eyes locked with mine, then towards me again for a final kiss.

Earlier today, my son had stoped playing with his cars, walked over behind me as I was finishing up an art project very dear to my heart, and said, "Mommy, you always make the most beautiful art."

There is no greater bliss than moments like that.

May we all continue to be there for them and share our gratitude. 🙂

I am continuing to take pictures everyday and did capture a few fleeting moments of my oldest son.

I agree with Megan that the top photo is utter magic. And the video brought tears to my eyes. I didn’t capture any fleeting moments with my camera today, but I caught them with my mind’s eye and that’s enough. Thank you for reminding me to make them matter.

My third shot down is my BSM. I love patterns. I was intrigued w/ the effect of shooting this weeping willow from looking up. I think I am finding my way, slowly, with what I want to do with my art–now that I’ve reconnected with her after 35 years of neglect. I have been trying to figure out why I am drawn to trees and skies when I photograph. Today I shot tons of shadows on the snow. I am drawn to mixed media and I think I want to incorporate these images onto canvas with words (I am a writer) and with paint. But I need to learn the how of the techniques of such mixed media making. I am taking a class this week. Anyone who can recommend what kind of paper I’d print my images onto for this type of recreation/transfer to canvas, I’d appreciate it! And, as always, I am so very open to critique of my photos. Like how could I do it better next time? What can I improve upon. Oh, and it’s late and I did not go back and get a cheat sheet on how to to a live link. Dang…Thank you!

My weekend was really quite ordinary — in the good way you talk about. I was lucky enough to capture this little moment.

February is filled with fleeting moments for me because it’s my oldest’s birthday. I just can’t believe that this month will mark 9 years that she has been in my life. I’m taking February to remember the things that I love, probably will include a lot of that almost 9 year old.

Fleeting makes me think of so many different kinds of moments that come and go through out a lifetime. I thought of them better personified in the shape of a rainbow.

I know how you feel. Sometime I look around at my life and think about how incredibly lucky I am. In that vein, here is my post. Not exactly fleeting, and not exactly one moment. It’s my birthday, and I compiled a few of my favorite photos of me through the years…
