31 Aug meant to be
This poem by David Whyte has been on my mind since my trip to Oregon. The amazing Myriam left it on the wall for us when she left early for her flight. And then darling Jen Gray’s shared it on her blog. I have read it over and over. It speaks to me in a way that is almost indescribable.
When your eyes are tired the world is tired also.
When your vision has gone no part of the world can find you.
Time to go into the dark where the night has eyes to recognize its own.
There you can be sure you are not beyond love.
The dark will be your womb tonight.
The night will give you a horizon further than you can see.
You must learn one thing. The world was meant to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds except the one to which you belong.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you…
~David Whyte
Is there something that has moved you lately? To tears? To laughter? Whatever it may be, let’s see your best shot today.

Posted at 08:21h, 31 AugustDon’t know if I have a best shot or not, but the last words of this beautiful, gorgeous (just like Myriam!) poem stuck right out:
‘anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you…’.
How true is that?! Those words just love bombed me…thank you, my friend…

My best shot is about new people…because I think few things are more moving than brand new little people…

Posted at 15:10h, 31 AugustOh, your PHOTO speaks to me. That is wonderful – the sense of motion and urgency, yet the carefree feel of the beach – it is just lovely.
I have a Sticky Sweet series today for my BSM, I’m on sugar overload over here!

Posted at 17:07h, 31 AugustI couldn’t agree with this sentiment more and yet it frightens me so much. What do you do with the situations or people that hold you back?

Posted at 17:34h, 31 AugustOne of my favorite poems – I have it taped inside my calendar so that when I’m starting to feel crazy and scattered, I can remember what to say yes and what to say no to.

Posted at 19:30h, 31 AugustI’m going to go with laughter today. I went to a science fiction convention, not something one hears about too often, and experienced a great deal of laughter. I even captured on her face too.

Posted at 22:37h, 31 AugustWe love the zoo and yesterday took a couple of friends along for their first visit. So sweet to see my girlfriend giddy and happy with her new man … and then we ran across these beautiful birds just lovin’ life: http://dandelionseedsanddreams.blogspot.com/2009/08/something-that-moves-me.html
makes my heart swell just looking at them.
