20 Apr together
Of course my Best Shot today is something that I captured of my daughter and I from our day of wandering. I’m going to print this one twice. Once for my office and once for my daughter’s bulletin board of important things (you know those middle school bulletin boards where everything that is special in your life goes) so that we are both reminded of our day together. Of living and loving and being. Together. Maybe I’m making too big a deal of it. I don’t know. I just know that it’s not always easy to put agendas to the side and focus on being in the moment. Together.
Do you have any thoughts to reflect on this week? Any special moment that you can savor in memory? Or in a photograph?

Posted at 10:42h, 20 AprilI look forward to my daughter being old enough to enjoy a day like that with me – it looks like you had a great time. I finally was together enough this morning (well, decided not to shower, but anyway…) to put something up.

Posted at 12:17h, 20 AprilWhen I read about your outing with your daughter the other day, it made me so look forward to my future. My little girl is only 20 months old, but I already envision us having days like those. Thanks for sharing a piece of it with us.
Here is my best shot from last week. A simple reminder to stop and notice the little things.

Posted at 12:55h, 20 AprilI love your last two posts about togetherness. Especially this picture. It really tops off a wonderful post.

Posted at 13:45h, 20 AprilWhat a cool shot! The theme over at I Heart Faces this week is ‘self-portrait’ (I think it can be you alone or with a child) and you have to be holding your camera at the time you take it. You should enter this photo!
My best shot is all about how much I need, long, YEARN for springtime to finally descend upon us mountain folk. I needed a burst of color this morning!

Posted at 14:14h, 20 Aprilmy favorite thing about that photo is that your cheek is resting on her sweet head. I do that all the time with my son.
we’ve been in CT visiting family and I got a ton of great -together- shots that I’ll cherish.

Posted at 15:07h, 20 AprilShe’s growing up, isn’t she? She’s going to always remember this one.
Somehow we’ve managed to be on the same wave length again. Though I posted late last night before yours was up, I’m accepting and enjoying the moment.

Posted at 15:12h, 20 AprilYou are absolutely not making too big of a deal out of such a fantastic day. No agenda and an entire day of not worrying about anything but spending time together…it IS a big deal.
We are savoring the summer-like weekend over at our place.

Posted at 17:37h, 20 AprilI had written and published a post in anticipation of your best shot Monday but when I came here and read your thoughts on today I’m not going to link it because it’s too depression for your thoughtful post.
Beautiful shot of you and your daughter. Beautiful thoughts to linger on for today.

Posted at 19:22h, 20 AprilWhat a great picture! I had a similar one I captured of my daughter in the mirror of an old BMW motorcycle I was trying to get a picture of. She was behind me watching and I caught her reflection.

Posted at 22:58h, 20 AprilYour post reminded me of a day years ago with my then middle school daughter. We were on a Navy sponsored trip to a play in Seattle in a van with about 10 people. She and I were in the very back seat. After a long bout of silence, she, all of a sudden, opened up to me and talked non-stop for an hour. She told me what was going on at school and her troubles. She had become uncommunicative for a while before this and I treasured this time so much. She has had periods of withdrawal from me since then off and on but I think that was the beginning of our adult relationship. A special and wonderful day.

Posted at 03:54h, 21 AprilThe simple times is what we so often overlook, but these are the moments that I forever want to keep fresh in my memory. Like when my little one wakes up in the morning. This is the face that I am privileged enough to wake up to everyday. I want to remember my daughter just like this forever!!!

Posted at 13:32h, 21 AprilThis is one of those photos that she might find 30 years from now, tucked in a book or still with her "important" stuff. She’ll study it, examine it, remember the special day, wonder about timelessness, aging, and beauty. She’ll think about what was "important" in middle school, and how sometimes it never changes. (I know this because I have a box of "important" stuff that I sit with often) I really enjoy this shot, as always.
My shot this week explores my "memories of flying!"
