a different leaf

a different leaf

With Thanksgiving upon us, I have to say that I am thankful for so many things. Most of all perhaps, that just in time for the Holiday Season, I have wrapped up quite a few large projects and am able to slow down and be more present in my daily life. Sometimes it takes a stint of being overly-busy to remind you how sweet it can be savoring the simplicities life; sipping a cup of coffee in the morning, lighting a fire in the evening, and enjoying a movie now and again. I have really missed these things.

So as we enter what is often considered a hectic time of year, I am turning over a different leaf. The one where I breath more deeply, live in more gratitude and take things slow and steady. I am so happy to be here!

How about you? What leaf are you turning over?

I have turned a different leaf few days ago, right before the most celebrated season of the year. So nice to wrap up all those huge projects, busy schedules, and stressful work habits. The simplicity of my life with my whole family is now best appreciated and enjoyed.

I have also turned over a new leaf
as I continue to un-clutter and
    pave the path
to all my new creative endeavors.
    So grateful, so Joyful

A year went by…and I feel like I was barely there. There were moments of inspiration: I started a meditation practice, I began to practice yoga consistently, I made it through three months of "one little word". But it's been too easy to get caught in the current of busy-ness, and with that any time spent on self-reflection or creativity or in quiet time seems like an unnecessary luxury. I haven't exactly figured out how yet, but I can definitely see it under that leaf….some time, daily/weekly/monthly to reflect on and express my appreciation for the gift of being me! Maybe it comes with age, but I'm gradually realizing just how very necessary this is. Being able to only remember that "I was really busy that year" just isn't going to cut it anymore.
