gathering treasures

gathering treasures

I feel like I’ve finally hit my summer stride! With that comes a lot of things, one of them being tons and tons of pictures. I know that many of you are collecting your own photographic treasures. With Picture Summer in full swing this month, more than ever photos are being collected. It’s such fun! The question is, what will you do with them? Above and beyond sharing them online, I highly suggest printing them out. There is nothing like seeing your images off the computer and into your very own hands.

I’m not only sharing some fun and creative ways to use your summer masterpieces via the free Big Idea Festival summer workshop but I am also giddy about Zazzle’s new customizable binders which are the perfect place to put all your photos. When Today’s Mama approached me about working with them and Avery to come up with a binder design to share I was thrilled! I’m a binder lover through and through and can think of no better way to showcase a collection photographs. You can print your work on a nice thick paper and actually 3-ring hole punch the images (I use HP’s matte finish Flier and Brochure Paper) or slide your prints into protective sleeves and put those in your binder.

The beauty of a new Zazzle binder is that you can use your photos to actually decorate the outside of it. Is that the best thing ever? I know it got me super-excited to design my own and I’m sure you’ll be equally motivated. If however, you want an easy design option, I am offering my own summer design for you to download. I’ve incorporated a few of my all-time favorite summer photos.

Just click HERE to download the image above via pdf. You can then upload it to the Zazzle page for customizable binders from Avery and drop it in. While you wait for your order to be delivered to your door (easy-peasy), gather up all your favorite images from the summer, print them out and get ready to put all those beauties in your beautiful new customized photo binder!

Am I right is assuming that you’ve got a gazillion photos from your summer adventures too? Share something you treasure from your collection today for Best Shot Monday!

I am loving Picture summer. along with keeping up with my daily photo blog, PS is giving me such inspiration to keep going with a new photo every day. I also have a life list I am trying to knock out of the park this summer. Here is a photo I made of a long exposure of the sky at night. Number 38. check. Oh and I’ve decided to do a print book of all my images from this summer, mostly due to all the great ideas I get from Picture summer. thanks so much for in inspiration!!

I have been going through my archive photos, and forgot about this iphone app one I took at the beginning of the summer. I also have been thinking about doing a book for each season. Thanks for the info.

I was so excited to come across dozens of spiderwebs one morning! My best shots are at the bottom of this entry:

Plus I am in a diptych project with 19 other women and my web paired beautiful with another image of summer: http://unravellingtogether.blogspot.com/2010/07/week-three-summer.html

I cannot believe how quickly summer is flying by! Thankfully such weekly reflections help me keep my footing and remember to slow down and take more pictures!

http://kennedyink.blogspot.com/2010/07/my-best-shot-monday.html My little treasure. How do I get this html coding to work so there isn’t an URL but just a link in orange? I am perplexed.

My BSM – summer at the playpark, and the boundless energy of little ones. It comes right off of them! 🙂

Love the sunset photo – and the photo of a photo. That turned out awesome – so crisp and clear.
Thank you for allowing everyone to share their fun – I am loving everyone’s images.
