Deep breaths, a long stare out the window at the tree whose changing colors marks the seasons for me, a belly laugh with my son, a dip into a favorite Mary Oliver poem or two. Those don't always work. Sometimes I sink in the high tide of life. xox

I keep a to-do list, that definitely keeps me sane and on task (I use the TeuxDeux app)! 🙂 And when I need to decompress? I take my dog for a nice long walk, or focus on something like giving myself a manicure. And when I need to get things all straightened out in my head I turn to my journal. Pouring it out on paper makes all the difference!

One foot in front of the other. One thing at a time. And wine. Love you. 🙂

Lately I feel like I'm just floundering, splashing and screaming to the lifeguard.
The best I can do is just try to push forward when the waves aren't crashing over my head. And boy is the progress slow. But I believe that one day … I'll make it to shore. 🙂

Pen to paper always grounds me. Doesnt have to be words…it could just be doodles…but the act of doing it seems to slow my thinking down, take some deep breathes and make my next step.

    LOVE this photo!

slow, silence, simple, sleep. slowing down (yes lindsey, deep and embodied breaths). being silent more often. embracing simple, ritualized pleasures (such as sipping a hot cup of tea). enjoying an early bedtime. swimming with you in the high tides, tracey. xo

Again it's all about the breathing. Perspective and the significance of my work/journey/life as an artist play a big role too. Wishing you a fabulous weekend full of time, to breathe, take a hot bath, sip tea (or wine), laughter, rest and joy! One Love

I just love your blog. I am catching up from the past few days and just reading this on Sunday. I am blown away not only by the meaning of your March 10th blog post on the day it was posted but now by the significance of it coming the day before the devastating earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan. Re-read it now in light of the tragedy and it has a new meaning. Thank you for posting.

    Hi..

I KNOW how you feel, this winter has kicked my butt. I am holding on to the signs of Spring I see around her, metaphorically and seasonally.

We are all in this together, the ebbs and flows of life, energy, seasons all things change.

    hugs

Taking a moment and just connecting with my breath. So simple. Yet has a huge impact on my day.

A quick chat or email with my sister where we take turns putting things in perspective. Some days I'm the needy one and some days she is!!
