latest love (aka obsession)

latest love (aka obsession)

So, I’ve been a little off the map for a few reasons. One of them being this.

I finished Twilight in mere days. I’m nearly finished with New Moon. I just saw the first movie the other night. All the rest will follow.

I’ve been sucked in. Pun intended.

Please share the object of your affection today…it’s still Monday where I’m at!

I became a bit obsessed with them when I finally succumbed, too. I read ALL the books in 2.5 days. I didn’t sleep much…at all. 😉

Aren’t they great. I finally gave in a read them a couple of months ago. I couldn’t put them down. All 4-boom, done, read. And then the movies. As silly as I feel saying it, I loved the story. Not the vampire or werewolf part, but the story of a young girl’s first love. Just loved it. I reread #3 for the latest movie, but couldn’t see the movie until I also reread #4 right after 3. I couldn’t just stop at 3.

I know this is cliche, but I’ll be honest . . . I am obsessed with who she is right now. Can I stop time??

How funny – that book is on my list to read (I am hopeless behind on trends … we are currently watching season 2 of Lost, so I am what? 5 years behind?) Maybe i should get a copy for summer vacation book?

Right now, here are a few things I am into: http://dandelionseedsanddreams.blogspot.com/2010/07/totally-random-thought-monday-weekend.html

I was a late follower, but once I got started I couldn’t stop reading. My husband actually went with me to see Eclipse. He wasn’t impressed but I loved it.

I read them all in less than a week. I actually borrowed the first two from a student (I taught middle school) and then had to go to Barnes & Noble at 10:30 one night to get the last two! And they were just as enjoyable the second time. My husband loved them too!

I’m a day behind, but here’s what had my attention yesterday:

    Floating Away.

No judging on the Twilight love, btw… I read all four of them in the course of about 5 days last year. I’m not really into it, but they were kind of cracktastic.

Sigh …. I sooo didn’t like the Twilight thing. Did read them all, because I’m an English teacher, and I kind of felt obliged to read them so that I would know what the kids were talking about – a lot of my students who don’t read at all were also sucked in! I found them easy to read, but really unsatisfying. Seriously – sparkly vampires? THey are supposed to burst into a ferocious ball of flames in the sunlight, not look like they’ve been rolling around in glitter!! Sheesh. Here endeth the rant – I tell you, my students know that if they want a few minutes break from working they just need to ask me about Twilight, and why I don’t like it. They think it’s highly entertaining! lol

I was a skeptic about the books and finally picked up the copy my coworker left on her desk when she was finished with it. I could not put it down and had the whole series read in a few days. Glad you enjoy it too. The movies, though? Meh.

you finally got the bite 🙂 i looove the series alot, i was completely obsessed, too. i remember reading eclipse during a vacation, and then stopping at a bookstore on the way home as breaking dawn was coming out. the movies had a lot to desire, however.

    my current obsession…

I was late getting on the Twilight bandwagon too. As I began to read the first book, I felt like such a dork. I couldn’t believe I was reading a cheesey teenage love story. Uhh, yeah… twenty pages later I was in, hook, line, and sinker. I read the first three in a week between my kids activities and whatnot. I am saving the last book for our upcoming vacation when I can savor it without interruption. Such an entertaining read!

I completely got sucked in and read all four books in a months time. I was so tired, from chasing a 4-year old around, working 32 hours and staying up way too late to read the books, but I could not quite, I was obsessed!

Read all of Twilight series last summer. Now I’m reading the unfinished, unedited manuscript of "Midnight Sun" which was going to be a companion book in the series. It is the first book told from Edward’s point of view and even unpolished, it is fantastic!

This cracked me up. A year ago I was so content not to be interested in Twilight and then got completely hooked when I had nothing else to read on summer holiday.

My current obsession is food-related memoirs. This isn’t a new obsession, but I’m re-reading all my old favourites (MFK Fisher, Ruth Reichl, Molly Wizenberg…)

I didn't want to jump on the Twilight bandwagon… but alas, I also got "sucked in". I just started reading Breaking Dawn and I can hardly put it down! Wait till you get to Eclipse– so far, that one has been my favorite 🙂
