laying low

laying low

Following an impossibly wild ride this summer I have found myself totally depleted. Tanks empty, motivation and energy at rock bottom. So, what’s a girl to do?

Nothing.

Which is everything.

In other words, I’ve unplugged myself from many of my daily online habits. And at first I hated it. But slowly I am starting to unwind and remember what life is like in real time. Relaxing into it I realize that I am in desperate need of rest.

And so, I will rest.

There is a salty beach house standing near where the sand meets the sea that has a bed with my name on it. I will soon be there to do a whole lot of nothing.

I can’t wait.

I, too, have a salty beach house waiting for me in Laguna in another week and I SO need it. I’m debating whether or not to take my laptop. I don’t know…will I survive without it? It’s definitely something to think about…

Good for you! Just this week, I vowed to turn off the TV in the evenings (I know, not quite the same thing . . . ) and have been pleasantly surprised by how much my sleep has improved, my conversations with my husband, the general sense of well-being. Mind you, it isn’t that I zombied out for hours — just one or two but it has made a world of difference to be still and quiet in the evenings this week.

Wishing you all the sleep, contemplative quiet and restorative beauty that you need in the coming days:)

thank you for sharing your photographic and storytelling artistry…your blog and shutters sisters’ blog have been profound sources of wild inspiration. my gratitude is immense.

Sounds, wonderful! Enjoy every minute of the nothingness. I too was given the gift of this kind of day today. Perhaps I should ditch the to-do list and do nothing, too.

Good for you – I think that can be hard to admit. I felt completely tapped out when I got home from Blogher…I am amazed how much good it did for me to turn the computer off a few nights in a row and sit on the deck with a glass of wine…just watching the wind in the trees.

    May you return rejuvenated. 🙂
