-photo emerging from a Polaroid straight from Jen Lee’s Diana in Chicago

As Jen and Stephanie board a plane for Rwanda on the first leg of their incredible Picture Hope journey, I am filled with love, admiration and pride. Words could never possibly describe how I feel and I’m sure that goes for them as well.

BlogHer this year was so special as we were able to really spend some time together in The Suite, just the 3 of us, getting to know each other on a deeper and deeper level with every passing moment. How lucky I am to call these girls my partners and my sisters.

I send them off today with more love than a heart can hold as they carry with them more courage than I have ever seen. It’s truly inspiring.

Follow their journey at Shutter Sisters (the Follow Picture Hope blog) and tune into The Motherhood next week as they will be a part of a Live Chat straight from Rwanda. Technology is crazy amazing, isn’t it?

It’s so nice to connect with you… a dear friend of mine told me about The Shutter Sisters, and implored me to stop by the suite during my trip to BlogHer, but it was so crazy I never made it over. I’m sorry I missed it, but so happy to see you here on the ‘sphere. Your site is absolutely stunning—peaceful, serene. Beautiful. I can’t wait to see more stories about the Rwanda trip—and especially more pictures.

    See you soon!

So beautiful to see that moment emerge on film. I’m pretty sure there was fairy dust floating around in that Suite this weekend.

    Hi Tracey,
My name is Kate, and I just happened to find your site from Ali Edwards blog post. I love you blog, and your pictures. I am a wife and mama to two lively, wonderful boys. I live out in the middle of nowhere on a ranch. I am often found chasing cows out of my yard in flip flops! Luckily we have no neighbors. I was wondering what kind of camera you use? You see I have this dream…this goal…I want to take pictures of my life in the best way possible. I would like to purchase a DSLR, and I was wondering if you have any suggestions for an ameteur photographing with a passion for telling our ranch story.
I might even open a photography studio in the small town that we live 17 miles from. I am thinking I might call it The Rancher’s Wifes Photography?!? What do you think?
I didn’t grow up on a ranch, but this is where life has taken me. Hope you are having a great day, and hope to hear back from you about which cameras you use?prefer?like?
    Sincerely, The Rancher’s Wife 🙂

I really enjoyed viewing your sites. I am in the process of purchasing my first SLR camera. I was hoping you could offer some suggestions on beginner cameras and how to start a website like the one you have 🙂

I can’t wait to hear how things are going with Steph and Jen! I reconnected with Stephanie a few months ago, (I had not talked with her since high school- we had some pretty silly fun then!) and she led me to Shutter Sisters- I am so glad she did. I am a budding photographer wanna be (I inherited my fathers old equipment- he was a true photographer) and felt an instant connection with it- like a piece of me had been found that I was not aware was missing. I look forward to seeing where my journey takes me and am thrilled that there is this lovely audience to share it with. Happy Friday 🙂
