My one word for next year is capture and that's what I'm looking forward to. I look forward to capturing the stories that haven't been told yet, the new stories as they are made, precious moments with my family, and great photos with my camera! Thanks for the chance to win a spot in picture winter. I'm really enjoying picture the holidays. Happy New Year!

Wow-2011! Our oldest daughter is graduating from high school this year, and I want to start making a keepsake album to give her for graduation. I am most looking forward to spending time sorting through all of the memories and choosing the photos that best represent those memories of her growing up. *Sigh* Thank you for the chance to win!

My word for 2011 is "acceptance". I want to finally come to know and accept who I truly am. Photography has long been a passion of mine and next year one of my big goals is to take it more seriously… take more pictures… maybe upgrade my camera… and enjoy being creative. I think being a part of Picture Winter would be a great jump-start to that!

I have 32 goals for 2011; I'm looking forward to crossing them off. 🙂 But even more important is my focus to grow in kindness and love, especially to my family. I want my home to be a haven and my words to be a balm to hurting hearts. I'm not too sure how my camera fits into that, but I am loving my new 50mm lens my husband bought me for Christmas!

Thank you for the chance to win a spot in your January class. I can't wait to take more workshops this year!

I am looking forward to a NEW year in 2011! 2010 has been a rough year for our family, personally and financially, so 2011 is a fresh start for us in so many ways.

I hope this year brings many opportunities for me to grow- personally, professionally, and joyfully! I hope to have my camera at my side as often as possible so I can "capture" as many of those moments as I can.

I plan on learning as much as I can about my camera, lighting, and anything that will improve my shots. I hope I can learn some of that in your class!

Being in Oz, my Picture Winter for New Year will be more of a Picture me Surviving the Summer Heat! But my New Year, which I decided starts today, December 27 (while I have a couple of days off work), is going to be full of ME! All the things I 'would like to do one-day" or "wish I could do" – why not? Starting this new year, I am going to do all those wishes and would likes, and strive to enjoy and live my life to the fullest! My 37th year is going to be amazing! And I would love to picture that!

I never could have dreamed how far my photography would take me in this past year. In the year to ahead I hope to build my technical know-how and really make the most of my new DSLR, but I haven't really set my course yet. I'm using this week leading up to the New Year to try to get a handle on my "one little word" for 2011. Last year's word was "stretch" and it surprised me how often that little word served as an incredibly useful touchstone.

One of your workshops seems like it would be a great way to start the New Year with a bang!

I am looking forward to graduating from college. I am looking forward to seeing where applying to grad school takes me- either to an MFA program in photography or to an MA in Art History- as of now it could easily go either way. I am looking forward to helping my daughter further develop her own budding photography skills. (She is only ten but I took her with me to a couple of my photography classes and she was hooked. She says that she doesn't want to "Just push the button like Pirate Michael" (her step-father) but wants to "turn all the wheels like Mommy.") And I am looking forward to hopefully learning in the new year how to be more completely present in the moment and not always rushing ahead.

Thanks for all of the inspiration, Tracey. My one word this year is 'sparkle". Defined: To give off or reflect flashes of light; glitter. To be brilliant in performance. To shine with animation. To flash with wit. Merriment expressed by a brightness or gleam. The quality of shining with a bright reflected light. To become bubbly.

I have a 3-year old daughter and the past 3 years have been all about nurturing, creating a home, and simplifying life and this year I feel I can finally give some attention to polishing up some areas in my life that have been neglected for a few years…for example, taking time for creativity and capturing my family's story.

Thank you for providing so much inspiration for all of us!

I just found your blog today, partly because I was looking for good photography sites – I never make New Year Resolutions, but this year I made 2 – the first and most important one is to improve my photography skills, there are so many beautiful places we're seeing here, and the second is to get my quilting skills up, mainly by using up some of the fabric I have stashed in my mobile home before my husband finds it 🙂 My husband and I live in a 5th wheeler and are working out way around Australia – not sure how this will fit in with your winter picture theme though 🙂 Still, I'd love to participate in your e-course. Thanks for the opportunity Tracey.

I am looking forward to taking time EVERYDAY to reflect on myself, my husband, each of my children and how fortunate we are. I'm looking forward to streamlining my organization ritual. I'm looking forward to reaching outside of my comfort zone from time to time and pushing myself out there in the world. I wish all of you good luck with your new year!

This year, I am looking forward to finding myself. As I write that, it sounds trite (even saying is sounds trite sounds trite). But I have spent the last twelve years of my life looking after others. Even before that, I tried to mold myself to what I thought others wanted me to be. Now, as I am nearing 40, I am realizing that it's my turn. I plan to take this year to take care of myself, find my physical fitness, grow my hobbies, and really do some searching to see who I am and what I want to give to this world and get out of this life.

    It's gonna be good.

A new year for me is a new year with no mistakes, a fresh start. And this year I really want to focus on a new me. New attitude, new approach to life.

In the new year, I am planning on continuing to improve my photography skills. I fell in love with it all over again with Picture Summer, Picture Fall and Picture the Holidays and want to continue improving in the new year.

I started a blog a couple of months ago. Sharing my stories and my new found love photography is very personal but I have found that by sharing, we connect and learn from each other. I am looking forward to more learning and definitely more sharing.

I am looking forward to a year of courage – knowing I have decisions to make and wanting to act on them. I am looking foward to a year of family – enjoying time with my boys and being present rather than always thinking of what is next; I am looking forward to a year of me – enjoying time with me and ensuring that I spend my precious time how I want to – rather than how I think I should (for others…).

I would love to caputre the memories of this year. It will be a year of change. Currently my 5 month grand daughter and daughter are living with me until her daddy returns from Korea in August (He is in the military), and then my mom will be moving in with me as she is becoming frail and needs assistance. It is exciting to see the circle of life but challenging. Capturing the simplicity of winter days and carrying on these tips will provide a focus of change. Thanks for the opportunity and the wonderful inspiration you provide.

Hmmmm…. I suppose I am looking forward to gaining some self discipline! How I'm going to do that I'm not quite sure? I'd also like to work on getting comfortable in the world, evaluating my work and how to make it take up less space, re-building my marriage and taking my knowledge of photography to a new level. That's enough for now- don't want to bite off too large a bite 🙂
Wonderful giveaway Tracey, even though I missed it!
