“A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.” – Denis Waitley
Whether known or unknown, what captured the attention of your lens this week?

Posted at 16:14h, 13 SeptemberIt's been raining in Calgary for most of the past week – and will continue to rain. So what has captured my attention is the time I spent at the end of August in Vernon, where there was no rain! Just sunshine & lollipops.

Posted at 17:12h, 13 SeptemberThe sweetest possible moment in time….
Everything that is familiar is about to change. And though change can be good – it can cause children and adults alike to take pause.

Posted at 17:31h, 13 Septemberwow, gorgeous shot, Tracey. I love the sharpness of the bud mixed with the softness around the edges. I'm sharing a little paint-inspired magic today: http://happyshackdesigns.blogspot.com/2010/09/stretching-ourselves-over-here.html

Posted at 18:08h, 13 SeptemberI spent the weekend visiting old familiar places, but didn't take my camera out once. But it was a good thing. I just needed to immerse myself in the enviromnent. Luckily I came across this shot from a little while ago, which I had intended to use as a BSM but forgot about!

Posted at 18:52h, 13 SeptemberI don't have a link – but the simplicity of my boys in their morning routine (sippys of milk on the couch). Such a special memory this will be for me in years to come.

Posted at 20:00h, 13 SeptemberI've been in Krakow and Prague so everything is unfamiliar…. but I would argue that being able to see the familiar and known in new ways is equally important. I've been photographing small towns in Ontario all summer as a project, to let me see my home in a different way and it's really helped me grow as a photographer and as a person.

Posted at 00:18h, 14 SeptemberI love my comfort zone and am very happy there…and yet I know that in order to grow I need to stretch a little more, color outside of the lines and go out on a limb & branch out.
