Ridiculously Happy

Ridiculously Happy

ridiculously happy cocoa

Ironically enough, starting off the New Year feeling a little funky has actually helped me look for creatively constructive ways to focus on other things. Good things. Positive things. Namely things that make me ridiculously happy. And when I say that, I mean things that make me happier than just the normal kind of happy. I’m talking about stuff that makes me the kind of happy that hearkens the pure, unbridled joy that children feel. You know…silly, giddy, ecstatic, excited, ridiculous, all in the best possible way. People, places, things that take me to that happy place that have no real or rational explanation, just something that makes me feel heightened and in touch with my innermost childlike self.

My theory is if I can seek out and find these things and reconnect with that feeling of being ridiculously happy, I can do more of the things that bring that feeling. I just don’t see a down side to seeking out this kind of inner delight.

That said, it all began with putting whipped cream on my cocoa. Who knew that something that seemed so inconsequential could suddenly make me so ridiculously happy? And so has begun the quest. It’s been fun so far! I’ll keep you posted.

You are, of course, welcome to join me. I’m using the hashtag #ridiculouslyhappy2015 to document my discoveries. Many of you are already on board, which I am thrilled about. The more ridiculously happy people there are out there, the better off we all are. Am I right?
