art and life

art and life

As we become older, art and life become the same thing. – George Braque

I am reminded each day, as something catches my eye and guides my lens, that much of what I notice around me are things that mirror where I am in my own life. As photographers, we take in the world around us (inhale) and then out it comes again (exhale); pictures translated from our own hearts and minds, creating something only we can create because it comes from within us.

Photography is a unique medium that way. We begin with something that already exsists. A person, a place, a thing, a circumstance even. We observe and then we recreate it in an image. You can learn the ins and outs of photography, this is true. But the true magic comes when you feel your way.

In celebration of SOOC Saturday.

Tracey, your flower art always gives me pause…inhale…then slow exhale. Gorgeous; I can feel the fuzzy stem.

A lovely closeup! The balance, and movement as your eye follows the petals makes it nice.

Tracey-I love how you talk about the process of art/photography. About how they merge and reflect who we are. This is a stunningly beautiful image-simple yet powerful in it’s very simplicity. Beautiful colors too. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
