Oh, I love that … Louise Erdrich writes about the "raveling string that ties our hearts" in the Blue Jay's Dance, about mothering, and it's an image I often think of … letting it out, not too loose, not too tight … there's an art.

only a tiny part of that ball is unravelled, and that part is a little out of focus, it feels like the whole thing is unravelling sometimes once things start, but it isn't
